摘要:At 10:20 a.m. on December 21, 2018, Meilian Experimental School, No.1 Middle School Affiliated to Central China Normal University organized all the first-grade students to participate in an educational activity with the theme of "loving China and inheriting classics".

At 10:20 a.m. on December 21, 2018, Meilian Experimental School, No.1 Middle School Affiliated to Central China Normal University organized all the first-grade students to participate in an educational activity with the theme of "loving China and inheriting classics". Through the enlightenment education of excellent Chinese traditional culture for the newly-enrolled, the activity enabled students to have a preliminary understanding of traditional etiquette, learn the basic etiquette of dealing with people and problems, and cultivate their sense of belonging and pride as a member of the Chinese nation.

The activity was divided into two parts. The first part was a lecture on "Eight Etiquettes and Four Ceremonies" of traditional culture. The lecturer emphasized the importance of civilized etiquette by shooting the students' sitting posture and let students made self-evaluation through the projection on the big screen. Then the lecturer led the students back to the ancient times to experience the behavior norms of our ancestors and learned "eight etiquettes and four ceremonies" by sharing stories, videos and pictures. “Eight etiquettes” includes the etiquette of instrument and appearance, talking, treating others, walking, watching, visiting and dining. Four ceremonies refers to the entrance ceremony (at 7 years old), the growth ceremony (at 10 years old), the juvenile ceremony (at 14 years old), and the adult ceremony (at 18 years old).

In the high spirit of students, the second part - performance of etiquette sitcom – began, which allowed "civilized etiquette" into the students' hearts. The sitcom stimulated all aspects of daily learning and life of students and called on students to start from small little things, consciously standardizing their thinking and behavior, constantly strengthening their moral cultivation, and refining civilized etiquette into words and deeds. Students showed great interests in traditional cultural knowledge, and expressed their opinions in the form of group cooperation.

This activity has enabled the first-year students to receive a comprehensive education in personal etiquettes, such as the way of speaking, manners, clothing, as well as social etiquette in family, campus, social places and other social activities. Through this activity, the school aims to strengthen the traditional Chinese culture education of juveniles, cultivate their love for the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and enhance their national cultural self-confidence and value confidence. The school hoped that students can consciously practice socialist core values and create a strong atmosphere of traditional campus culture.
