On the morning of February 25, 2019, after the flag-raising ceremony, the school summarized “Reading Wish” activity during winter vacation and commended and encouraged the outstanding students. During the winter vacation, to enrich students’ holiday life, the school organized the “Reading Wish” activity in which “parents and children read the same good book”. Students and parents could read many good books and make the whole winter vacation more meaningful. This reading activity was aimed at enriching students with knowledge in a great deal of reading practice, widening their horizon, cultivating students’ good habits in reading, promoting students’ reading ability and enabling students to make full use of library, network and other resources at school for reading. With the reading activity as the carrier, students can be closer to books, love reading, learn reading, form a great mass fervor, create a deep “reading atmosphere” and build a characteristic class culture brand. It encourages students to be friends with books, make dialogues with great masters and purify the soul and sublimate personality in human beings’ excellent culture heritage.

In this colorful and wonderful world, there is too much of “why” for students. Besides knowledge instructed by teachers in school, more answers for “why” need to be obtained by students after school; amongst, extracurricular reading is one of the most important ways. Good books are like good teachers and helpful friends. During the extracurricular reading, students can make many “intimate friends”, students can see colorful life scenery and gain endless hope and touched feelings. Through reading more good books, extraordinary reading can truly become indispensable nourishment for the mind in students’ life. The school hoped the heavy schoolbags not to overwhelm students’ ridges and exam results not to restrict their minds. It is necessary to return children a sky of freedom, enable their soul to travel and enable them to think, communicate, “listen to” and “look at” in their soul and to feel wonders of life and miracle of all things.
