In order to cultivate students ' practical ability and arouse students ' interest in science from an early age, Meilian Experimental School carried out the science and technology week from April 8 to April 12. On the morning of April 11, the school held a paper plane competition, through a fierce competition, the teachers selected the competition's "excellent designers" and "pattern pilots", and on the morning of April 15 to recognize the award-winning students.

Students study initially through the making of paper aircraft, commissioning, throwing methods and model aircraft flight principle. Children actively play the imagination with used newspapers and a variety of packaging paper to make a creative paper plane. Paper planes seem simple but can arouse full the imagination of students.

During the competition, each contestant has 3 flight opportunities, calculated at the best results. The little pilots standed in front of the throwing line with full confidence, hoping that their plane would fly the furthest. Whenever a paper plane thrown by a contestant flies far away, it makes people say "wow" praise. In the end, Yang Guodong from Grade 1 class 2 won the paper plane competition champion.

The development of this event not only enriches students ' after-school life, but also inspires the innovative thinking, enlightens the realization of creativity, and sows the seeds of scientific and technological dreams.
