On April 1, 2019, just before the Tomb-Sweeping Day, the school invited Zhang Xiaohu, an old CPC member from the Machidon community, to carry out revolutionary tradition education activities. All first-grade students participated in this activity, listened to the old revolutionary stories and cherished the memory of the revolutionary martyrs. This activity received strong support from the Party Committee of Machidon Community.
Zhang Xiaohu told students the story of a little boy during the war times. He mentioned that the little hero was named "Song Zhenzhong" and taken to prison with his parents when he was only eight months old. Because of his young age, secret agents did not take very strict care of him. He often passed things and secret information from cell to cell, helped adults to understand the situation of imprisoned comrades by standing guard at the door. But just before the victory of the revolution, the boy and his family were killed by the enemy. He is the youngest martyr in China and even in the world. Our country takes pride in him!” Comrade Zhang Xiaohu said with passion, and students also nodded with tears in their eyes.
Students actively interacted with Zhang Xiaohu and kept asking him questions. The atmosphere was very warm. Even after the activity, students still kept asking when Mr. Zhang would come back to tell them more old revolutionary stories.
